ScapeCon is an international series of conferences organized by and for early career scholars in Aegean prehistoric archaeology. Since its creation in 2018, the goal has been to provide, on a yearly basis, a space in a different institution and country for young researchers to present their work on various aspects of a given theme. The 7th edition of ScapeCon, titled 'Techniques Make Perfect': Exploring Crafts and Practices in Aegean Prehistoric Societies, is organized by a committee of postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers from the ArScAn laboratory (UMR 7041) in Paris. Techniques are understood as the human operation involved in any transformation of matter in material production, along with their broader implications concerning tools, gestures, senses, and their interactions with specific social and cultural systems. This theme is deliberately broad, so as to allow young researchers to examine the topic from different angles, which are further detailed and defined in the call for papers (available under the corresponding tab).
